| Pattaya Meter Taxis | Al last there are several Meter-Taxis on the streets of Pattaya. These new airconditioned sedans usually stand in front of the Central Festival Beach Centre on Beach Road or at "The Avenue" on Second Road. | Baht Bus Taxis | For traveling within Pattaya, the most convenient way is jumping on a dark-blue Baht bus Taxi. These operate like small public buses on fixed routes but can also be hired for private trips. They offer service around the clock on Pattaya Beach Road and Pattaya 2 Road, returning via the North-Pattaya dolphin roundabout resp. South-Pattaya road. In addition they drive from the southern end of Second Road via Pratamnak Road to Jomtien Beach Road and back. Fares are clearly regulated but not all drivers adhere to the rules. A fare from 10 to a maximum of 30 Baht for the longest trip on their regular route is fine. Have the right amount ready at hand. Private trips have to be negotiated. Some drivers hustle their customers for some extra money, but it is wise to ignore such behaviour. Just pay the advertised fare or the negotiated fare if it is a private trip. |
